  For anyone who has been in the area of Mayfield and Hurontario you have probably driven by this place because it sure is hidden. Its in a plaza that is set up a bit weird. Now as you read this review and you are in that area and hungry you have to stop in. This is as Portuguese as it gets. The owner/cook is an older Portuguese man and let me tell you he knows what he is doing. From the minute you park you can smell the charcoal from the BBQ. Once you get inside your eyes go right to the huge fire pit that they use to cook the chicken. There is nothing better than the taste of charcoal on you meat. Chicken is super tasty especially when you ask to put the sauce on it. Potatoes and rice are average but to be honest its the chicken that counts. Great job. I see myself becoming a frequent flyer of Universal BBQ.

  Called on Sunday. One of the most unprofessional experiences Ive ever had. Person on other end was completely rude when all I was trying to do was place an order. Hung up. When are these operators going to learn that business success hinges on customer service?

  I am not going to bash this place since i had a bad experience so hopefully this review can be used as constructive feedback for the owners and staff to step up. I'm sorry to say but the chicken here was horrible but the price is fair. I found the chicken to be way tooo salty and hard, hard i guess because the chicken i got was in a tray being kept warm under the light warmer, the potatoes were good i cant complain about that, the place looks like it needs to be cleaned up. Maybe a fresh chicken would have changed my opinion about this place but i will not take a second chance, the man who checked us out looked bitter and cold like the chicken i got. lol all jokes aside wont be coming here again! Dry chicken and hard, don't get it from the warmer!
